Black. Large dark tan head on pour, good surface and thin halo retention, with little lacing. Strong fruitcake, molasses, almost ?liquorice? aroma. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, ?tonka bean? Taste and after. Dry but silky. Yes the (hopefully) tail-end of a major heatwave IS the ideal time for a Christmas beer. Why do you ask? Managed to cool it slightly before drinking, so it didn’t explode on opening, at least.
