Nanodog S'mores Pastry Stout - BrewDog

Rated on 2026-01-05 by BeerDorkNik at BrewDog, Liverpool

Quality: 71, Enjoyability: 71.5, Overall: 71.25

Black. OK dark tan creamy head as poured, with very good retention and solid lacing. Chocolate, marshmallow, caramel aroma. Creamy similar taste, biscuity similar after. Silky, s’mores and caramel texture. Might be exceedingly dangerous at 11%, or maybe I’ve just had a few too many to judge. I’m guessing at which version of S’mores it is - just said ‘BrewDog Outpost’ and not which one, but there’re only 2 11%ers in the range that I could see.

DDF Churros - Vault City

Rated on 2024-12-09 by BeerDorkNik at The Cellar, Chester

Quality: 70, Enjoyability: 68, Overall: 69

Black, with no head as poured. Dark chocolate aroma, hint of cinnamon spice. Rich chocolate taste, stronger cinnamon heat after.

DDF Catapillar Cake - Vault City

Rated on 2024-11-20 by BeerDorkNik at BrewDog, Liverpool

Quality: 72, Enjoyability: 73, Overall: 72.5

Black. Good tan halo and some surface head as poured, with good retention and some loose lacing. Sweet vanilla sponge cake aroma, hint of icing and/or buttercream (so, icing sugar basically). Viscous, cakey taste and after - icing, buttercream and jam included!

Kärleksmums [X Nerdbrewing] - Vault City

Rated on 2022-06-23 by BeerDorkNik at Londis Penny Lane, Liverpool

Quality: 60, Enjoyability: 48.5, Overall: 54.25

Black, dark tan fizz on pour, dispersing. Gritty, bits on surface. Woody boozy choc aroma. Smooth cocoa vanilla aroma, bit coconutty after (bits might've been coconut husk?). Heavy, sickly, but oddly bland to be totally honest, maybe the high ABV worked against it? Most disappointing Vault City I've had, I think.
