Quality: 63, Enjoyability: 60.5, Overall: 61.75
Gold. OK creamy head on pour, good retention with OK lacing and layers. Light, slightly wood smoke aroma. Light, fruity, bit blueberry maybe (?), with a smokier after. Been trying to get in here for almost as long as we've been coming to York, and finally managed it. (Ironically, given their 'No Groups' policy, I got in because the regulars were on a group outing to Whitby.) Would maybe have liked it more a few years ago, but a genuinely nice place for a drink.
