Hazy pale straw. Very large head on pour, with good retention, Ok lacing and some layering. Dank, sawdust aroma. Dry, fruity dust, taste and after, hint of ?leather? (It’s an NBC with ‘The Old Shoe’ – did that put ‘leather’ in my head?) Disappointing beer from this brewer, or MOST disappointing beer from this brewer? (Later: Lowest scoring so far, at 7.5% and almost 1,000 chart positions below the next one up.)

Cloudy red. OK pink head as poured, halo and OK surface scum retention, with OK legs. Some greenhouse raspberry plant aroma, not bad, just faint. Bit raspberry taste, slightly stronger after. Not really giving raspberry – might not have identified it beyond ‘vague red fruit’ if it wasn’t in the name. Bland, with some small bubbles.
