Amber, with a large creamy head as poured. Sweet, nutty, bit cocoa. Better than a basic Bitter, but not really a 'Best'. Mum was obsessed with the idea we should come here, so I decided to pop in. OK, but empty. Think the appeal was it does food and is dog friendly.

Black. Little tan halo as poured, with little to no retention or lacing. Nutty, roasty, molasses/brown sugar aroma. Viscous, Nutella taste, creamy chocolate/coffee (?) after. Good 'legs' / staining left in glass.

Black red. Little tan head as poured, with tiny halo retention but no lacing. Nutty sweet aroma – I’d guess almond, based on Diam Bar, but could be projecting. Similar taste, dark chocolate after. Like a liquid dark chocolate Diam Bar, but again may be reaching. Brewed in association with BrewDog Waterloo Outpost, so I don’t think it counts as a collab.

Deep chestnut, with a slightly active open. Extremely large off white head on pour, with good retention and loose lacing. Nutty sweet aroma, bit dry under. Similar taste and after. Bit thick, tiny sharp effervescence. Doesn’t really give a style, so I has to take a guess – it’s a decent, straight down the middle Bitter.

Chestnut. Little off white head as poured, halo and little surface retention with good lacing. No real aroma, tiny bit of smoke but that might just be the open fire in the pub… Bitter, nutty, skin-dry taste, nuttier similar after. Wet.

Jammy brown. Good off white head on pour, halo and good surface retention with layering and OK lacing. Peanutty malt aroma. Nutty Brown Ale - not getting the ‘J’ part so much, maybe a hint of fruit? Buttery smooth with a peppery effervescence.
